ROLLA are firmly established as prime contenders to rise to the forefront of the rock ‘n’ roll scene.

“Some monster choruses.”- Manchester Evening News

Their aptly-titled debut EP ‘Nothing Less Than Everything’ catapulted to Number 1 on the iTunes’ Album and Alternative charts, with many fans drawing upbeat comparisons with iconic indie titans such as The Verve and Oasis.

Having also hit arenas as special guests to Kasabian, their subsequent April headline tour inspired similarly euphoric scenes and culminated with their biggest headline to date - a sold-out homecoming gig at Manchester’s Gorilla.

ROLLA are on a roll.

Their grand, brand new single and cinematic video - ‘When Life’s Thunder Striking’ - comes as they promise to deliver “fucking outrageous” sets at Y NOT? Festival, where they follow the likes of Red Rum Club in headlining the iconic fame accelerating This Feeling stage. “The best club night for future rock ‘n’ roll stars.” - Noel Gallagher

TheZineUK have caught a couple of ROLLA shows, with our documentary noticing the reactions grow. Expect epic scenes again next month at the This Feeling By The Sea weekender.

'This Feeling are way ahead of the curve for new band bookings' (Clash Magazine) … and on the money, again, with ROLLA. As Birmingham outfit, The Clause, declared last month on their Isle Of Wight Festival appearance: “From This_Feeling stage to the main stage. Thanks to their platform, the best new bands get to see opportunities like this”. ROLLA join more chart toppers from This Feeling’s runway - The Lathums and The Lottery Winners - on a who’s who of hugely tipped ones to watch. As The Blossoms declare; “This Feeling were the first to take a real punt on us.”

‘When Life’s Thunder Striking’ is a statement of intent that ROLLA are destined for bigger things to come.

It’s a towering, string-soaked anthemic epic which demonstrates that the quintet are just as adept at crafting emotive slowburners as they are at rabble-rousing.

It’s sure to come alive at the shows, a unifying singalong, phones-in-the-air moment that offers something different from the rest of the set. The track was produced by Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses) with mixing courtesy of Gareth Nuttall (The Lottery Winners, The K’s).

VIDEO Premiere

Filmed behind the scenes by James Gwynne and Connor Hill, ‘When Life’s Thunder Striking’ is effectively a three-minute highlight reel of ROLLA’s year to date.

It takes in sessions at the fabled Rockfield Studios, incendiary scenes as they pack Gorilla from wall-to-wall, and the kind of youthful hijinks that come when a band are on the cusp of achieving something special.

“‘When Life's Thunder Striking’ is our most personal song we have written to date. It's definitely still got the ROLLA sound, but expands on it and shines a light on the softer, more intimate side of us as a band. We hope it will introduce us to new fans. We have more similar songs to come so we’re excited to see where it takes us.

As for the video, we wanted to capture that more personal side of us like we have done with the song, and also to  illustrate the kind of community and fanbase we are creating. We want to thank our fans for the ongoing support and for helping to get ROLLA to the masses. Here’s to the future!”
